The Lake District Coast
26th January 2021
Many people know how beautiful the Lake District scenery is, but do you know how beautiful the Lake District coast is?
The Lake District coast stretches all the way from the huge tidal expanse of Morecambe Bay and all the way up the coast of the Irish Sea to the Scottish border. In total we have 150 miles of stunning shores and beaches.
Some of our beaches stretch as far as the eye can see and needless to say there is an abundance of wildlife to see. The wildlife includes rare birds, sealions, dolphins and passing whales.
From picture the postcard seaside fishing village of Ravenglass, to fantastic deserted beaches, scenic estuaries and historic harbours like as Whitehaven.
One of the best views of this stunning coastline is from the comfort of a seat on 1 of England’s most beautiful railways. The journey on board the train along the Cumbrian Coast is an absolute ‘must do’. You can read more about this journey here
A visit to The Lake District Coast will remain with you long after you leave.
