Sadly Bridgelands Cottage has been sold and won’t be rented out from January 2023.

Bridgelands Cottage is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. This lovely cottage has a great mixture of modern and antique furniture, oak beams and a roaring log fire.
Bridgelands Cottage is a favourite holiday cottage with many of our regular guests and is situated in a quiet off-road location at the top of a cobbled lane. The cottage is located close to the centre of the unspoilt South Lake District village of Cark in Cartmel.

The Kitchen/Dining Room
The stable style front door of the cottage opens up into the wonderful large kitchen and dining area with 2 long breakfast bars, dining table and chairs.
This lovely large room has 2 lovely window seats.
The fully equipped kitchen with solid oak kitchen units has a built-in oven, 4 ring gas hob, separate fridge & freezer, washing machine with built-in tumble drier, dishwasher, microwave and all the kitchen utensils and equipment you could possibly want to make your stay a very comfortable one.
Free Wi-Fi extends throughout the cottage and into the garden too.
The cosy sitting room has 2 high quality leather 3 seater sofas set around the roaring log fire.
The large French doors open onto the private, enclosed and secluded garden. The garden is south-facing garden and is gorgeous in warm and sunny weather.
The lounge has a lovely stone fireplace, lots of antiques, Samsung ‘Smart TV’ with access to Netflix*, Prime* (*subscription needed if you don’t have one), YouTube, Skype, Love Film*, all the ‘on demand’ channels including the BBC’s ‘iPlayer’ in full HD and lots more. There’s also a ‘Pure’ Bluetooth music system station with a DAB radio and plenty of books too!
The sitting room and garden are south facing, therefore during the day this room gets lots of sun and light.
At night time it’s a lovely cosy room to relax in front of the roaring log fire.

King Size Bedroom
The cottage sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms. An additional infant is also welcome. A full-size travel cot, high chair and stair gate are also provided, free of charge.
The single bedroom and the twin bedroom are located on the 1st floor. Both of these 1st floor bedrooms are especially quiet as they overlook gardens. The newly decorated and refurbished twin bedroom has a brand new Sealy ‘zip and link’ bed that can be made up as a super-king bed or 2 single beds.
All the beds have been replaced in 2021 with super comfy Sealy Posturepedic beds and mattresses which are hand made in Cumbria.
Also on the 1st floor, the modern bathroom has a full-size bath, powerful shower, wash basin and toilet.
Luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen and soft fluffy white towels provided free of charge.
The light and airy main bedroom is located on the 3rd floor with a galleried entrance, oak beams, plenty of storage space, and a Bose Wave CD/Radio.
This lovely room has a top quality, luxurious leather, king-size sleigh bed with a Sealy Posturepedic mattress. People frequently tell us that they had their best night’s sleep ever in this quiet and comfy bedroom.
Full (mains) gas central heating is at your control for whenever you want to use it and there is a combi-boiler for instant hot water. Heating, gas, and electric are all included in the price.

Enclosed, Private Garden
Bridgelands Cottage has a lovely south facing, private & secluded, enclosed garden with BBQ and garden furniture including table and chairs (these were added after the photos were taken). Everything you might want from a holiday cottage in the Lake District.
All of our holiday cottages are provided with lots of information on the local area, the Lake District and Cumbria with several books, folders and leaflets containing plenty of walks and our own personal recommendations for places to visit. We also send all of our guests a detailed list of our favourite pubs, restaurants and places to buy great local food giving you some wonderful inside knowledge and a valuable head start.
Cark-in-Cartmel is located in the beautiful Cartmel valley with its lush green fields, quiet leafy lanes, and gentle rolling hills.
The cobbled streets and 12th century priory village of Cartmel lies just 1½ miles to the north and Lake Windermere is a 10 minute drive. Please visit our location page for details on the area.
Bridgelands Cottage is a pet friendly cottage and dog owners are welcome to bring along their dog(s) for a small charge (£20 for 1 dog, £30 for 2)-just select this option on our on-line booking system at the time of booking. Non pet owners can rest assured that we spend this extra money on additional cleaning so that non pet owners would have no idea a dog has stayed at the cottage.
Cark in Cartmel Village
This is a great area for walkers and dog owners with several walks from the doorstep where your dog can enjoy it’s holiday as much as you.
