Bridgelands Cottage is a charming, luxury 18th Century cottage that is furnished and equipped to a very high standard with a great mixture of contemporary and antique furniture, oak beams, grandfather clock, and a roaring log fire.

This lovely cottage is situated in a quiet off road location at the top of a cobbled lane, close to the heart of the unspoilt South Lakeland village of Cark-in-Cartmel yet only a minute´s stroll to the 2 good village pubs.

The stable style front door of the cottage opens up into the wonderful large kitchen and dining area with 2 long breakfast bars, dining table and chairs. This lovely room is further highlighted by 2 lovely window seats overlooking gardens. The fully equipped kitchen has a a brand new built in oven, gas hob, separate fridge & freezer, automatic washing machine, dishwasher, microwave with 2nd oven built into it, and all the kitchen utensils and equipment you could possibly want to make your stay a very comfortable one.

The light, sunny and cosy lounge has 2 brand new sumptuous soft leather sofas set around the roaring log fire. The French doors look out into the private, enclosed, secluded and south facing garden. The lounge has a lovely stone fireplace, lots of antiques, remote control "Freeview" TV, DVD, Bose Wave CD/Radio and books galore. During the day the lounge gets lots of sun and at night time its a lovely cosy room to relax in front of the roaring log fire.

The cottage sleeps 5 and upstairs on the 1st floor you will find the single bedroom, newly refurbished and redecorated with stylish and contemporary furnishings. Along the corridor is the newly decorated twin bedroom. Both of these 1st floor bedrooms are quietly located overlooking gardens. The recently fitted, modern bathroom has a bath, powerful shower, wash basin and toilet.

The newly refurbished & decorated light and airy double bedroom is located on the 3rd floor with a galleried entrance, oak beams, plenty of storage space, and a wonderful brand new, luxurious leather, king-size sleigh bed.

A brand new, full size travel cot and high chair are also provided, free of charge.

Full (mains) gas central heating is at your control for whenever you want to use it and there is a combi-boiler for instant hot water. Heating, gas, and electric are all included in the price.

Bridgelands Cottage has a lovely south facing, private & secluded, enclosed garden with BBQ and garden furniture.

The cottage is provided with plenty of local information, books, folders and leaflets containing lots of walks and our own recommendations of some of our personal favourite walks and places to visit.

Cark-in-Cartmel is located in the beautiful Cartmel valley with its lush green fields, quiet leafy lanes, and gentle rolling hills.

The cobbled streets and 12th century priory village of Cartmel lies just 1½ miles to the north and Lake Windermere is a 10 minute drive. Please visit our location page for details on the area.

Dog owners are welcome to bring along their dog(s) with them by prior arrangement and for a small charge. Non pet owners can rest assured that we spend this extra money on additional cleaning so that non pet owners would have no idea a dog has stayed at the cottage.

This is a great area for walkers and dog owners with walks from the doorstep and there are plenty of fields, footpaths, woods and beaches all open to the public to ensure that your dog can run around off the lead. Please read our "location information" page for details on our beautiful area.
